ABOUT

My name is John. I am a New-Haven, Connecticut resident and long-time bike and e-bike enthusiast. I am involved in the New Haven bicycle scene and frequently volunteer at the Bradley Street Bicycle Co-Op in town.

I am deeply aware of, and troubled by, the scars of racially and economically unjust highway construction still running through the heart of my city. New Haven is walled off from our natural waterfront by I-95 in the name of moving cars along the coast few minutes faster.

I have home-built two e-bikes and an e-trike, and love the freedom of pedal assisted power. My e-bike turns an otherwise 90 minute bicycle commute to Bridgeport into a manageable 45 minutes.

My mission with this site: to get as many citizens of our great state out and about on bicycles as possible and do my part to contribute to a more environmentally and transportationally just Connecticut.

If you do end up donating through this site, any donations will be used to keep the site running for as long as I can afford it.

Ten lanes of I-95 choke modern New Haven off from the waterfront, a waterfront that was once at our city’s doorstep and accessible by all.
